V.i. Your dad is still living because the purpose that God has for him has not be fulfilled. A few years I ago I went through a paralytic stage (though not due to an accident). Drs didnt know why and I was ready to give up, actually I did give up, but my praying family help bring me through until one day I heard God speak and say, "now that I have your attention, I want you to do my work"... I was always on the run and tyring to get involved in everything but the work of the Lord, but when you are paralyzed all you have is time and that was the time that God begin to fill me and prepare me for the next phase of my life. I can now say that I went from paralyzed and being told I would never walk again to a completly healthy child of God who worksout and runs daily. It is that testimony that allows me initiate conversation with others and help them along their Christian journey. All I can say to you is keep praying for your dad, and as James 1:4 says, "The effective fervent prayer of the righteous man availeth much". I will continue to lift you and your dad in prayers. God bless you both.
