Product description

Samuel Rutherford is regarded as one of the greatest Scottish theologians and pastors. His Letters, which are nearly always in print, were written while he was imprisoned at Aberdeen for nonconformity, and were addressed to former parishioners and friends from his prior charge at Antworth. This collection of sermons was published for the fist time in 1885, and was taken from a manuscript volume of Rutherford's sermons, compiled by one who heard them firsthand and wrote them down in shorthand. Included herein are: *Fear Not, Thou Worm Jacob (2 Sermons on Isaiah 41-14-16) *A Charge to the Lord's Prophet (Hosea 8:1-3) *Weeping Mary at the Sepulchre (John 20:9-13) *The Spouse's Longing for Christ (Song of Solomon 5:3-6) *The Church Seeking Her Lord (Song of Solomon 5:3-6) *The Deliverance of the Church of God (Jeremiah 50:4-5) *The Church's Holy Resolution (Jeremiah 50:4-5) *The Church's Holy Resolution (Jeremiah 50:4-5) *The Forlorn Son (7 Sermons on Luke 15) *The Worth and Excellence of the Gospel (2 Corinthians 10:4-5) *The Apostle's Choice (2 sermons on Philippians 3:7-8) Type: Hardcover (Reprinted) Category: Books > Pastoral Helps ISBN / UPC: 9781573581011/1573581011 Publish Date: 10/1/1999 Item No: 109844 Vendor: Soli Deo Gloria Publications / Reformation Heritag
