For the hundreds of thousands of kids in our country's foster care system, God certainly serves as their
Father in Heaven. Knowing this, we wanted to further help these children in need and designed a shirt called
"Child of God". For every "Child of God" shirt sold, we will donate $2 to a ministry called Child S.H.A.R.E.
Our prayer is for children in the foster care system to be adopted by Christian parents just as God has adopted
us as sons and daughters through our faith in Jesus!
"Yet to all who receive Him, to those who believe in His name, He gave the right to become children of God - children born
not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband's will, but born of God" John 1:12-13
Often we begin our prayers by using the phrase Dear God and or Dear Lord, but when Jesus was asked how we should pray, He replied. "...'Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one." Matthew 6:9-13 When was the last time you personally prayed addressing God as your Dear Father? As Dear God, I can think of Him as Holy and all Powerful. As Dear Lord, I can think of Him controlling all things, and both ways are great. But when I address Him as my Dear Father, there is a greater personal connection that reassures me that He will gladly provide for me because He is my Dad. When I ask my Father in heaven for things, there is a greater realization of His undeserved grace that I find so comforting. I can expect my Father to listen to me and to help me. Jesus always referred to God as His Father, will you?
